NEW ORLEANS – The Citadel used a 14-0 run midway through the second half to take the lead and hold on for a 72-65 victory over New Orleans in the first game of the Big Easy Classic presented by Embassy Suites New Orleans.

How it Happened
- After UNO got a free throw for the first point of the game, the Bulldogs came back with transition baskets from Elijah Morgan and Stephen Clark, and a three-pointer from David Maynard as part of a 9-0 run.
- Both teams went through a scoring drought and UNO was able to tie the game, 16-16, before Brady Spence scored four points to help the Bulldogs push the lead back to 22-16.
- The Citadel would struggle to score the remainder of the half as the Privateers used a 19-7 run to close the half and take a 35-29 lead into halftime.
- The Bulldogs got things going offensively early in the second half as Maynard scored five quick points, and Austin Ash followed with five of his own to tie the game at the under-16 media.
- The momentum continued out of the timeout as Ash sparked a 14-0 Bulldog run that pushed the advantage to 10 points.
- UNO would attempt to keep it close as Jordan Johnson hits a trio of three-pointers, but the Bulldogs would make their free throws down the stretch to secure the road victory.
