DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Citadel rifle squad came up just short of its host North Georgia on Saturday, posting a 4,581 aggregate score to the Nighthawks' 4,605. The Bulldogs were close in both events, including coming up one point shy of North Georgia in the air rifle.
James Hart led the Bulldogs in fourth place with a 1,152 aggregate, while leading The Citadel in smallbore with 571 points, good for second in the event.
Charlotte Welsh was the Bulldogs' top finisher in the air rifle with 582 points for third, while placing fifth overall with a 1,148 aggregate.
Smallbore Results
- The Bulldogs came up just short on the Nighthawks, with North Georgia edging out the competition by a 2282-2259 margin.
- NGU's Dawson Kissik won the smallbore with 581, with James Hart right behind him for the Bulldogs with 571 points.
- Charlotte Welsh was The Citadel's next finisher in fifth with 566 points, with Cameron Bates right behind her in sixth with 563 points.
- Emily Perkins and Jack Wittman rounded out the Bulldogs' top-ten finishers, with Perkins in eighth with 559 points and Wittman tenth with 555 points.
- Demi Perez led the women's team with 547 points, as the squad chalked up a 2080 total.
Air Rifle Results
- The Citadel's strong numbers were just barely outdone by North Georgia, with the Nighthawks taking the event, 2323-222.
- Charlotte Welsh and Cameron Bates finished tied for The Citadel's top score in the event with 582 points, good for third overall.
- James Hart IV placed sixth with 581 points, with Emily Perkins in seventh with 577 points. Jack Wittman took ninth with a 570 score card.
- Demi Perez again led the women's squad 568 points as the women totaled a 2212.
