CHARLESTON, S.C. (February 16, 2022) – The Citadel was unable to overcome its lowest shooting percentage of the season Wednesday, as several late comeback attempts were thwarted by Wofford to escape with a 65-58 decision.

How it Happened
- Wofford opened with a 19-11 lead before The Citadel got its motor going thanks to the early scoring production of Tyler Moffe and Jason Roche.
- The Bulldogs made many moves to get within one possession several times, including getting to within 28-26 late in the first half.
- Wofford responded with field goals on consecutive possessions, followed by a three from Max Klesmit in the final seconds to take a 35-26 lead at the half.
- Wofford maintained as much as a four-possession lead at times throughout the second half, but not without several bursts from the Bulldogs to threaten a late comeback.
- The Citadel was stuck in neutral to begin the second before a Hayden Brown three got things going, trailing 50-43.
- This sparked a 10-3 run, capitalized by a Rudy Fitzgibbons III trey to make the score 53-50 Wofford with just over six minutes to play.
- The Bulldogs also benefitted with the bonus, as a pair of free throws by Stephen Clark again cut the lead down to three at 55-52 with 4:30 remaining.
- Despite this progress, The Citadel was unable to close the gap, as Wofford slowly pulled away. The Bulldogs' last gasp came trailing 59-54 when Clark missed the front end of a one-and-one that could have again brought the game back down to a three-point difference with under 2:30 left.

- After flirting with a season best with 17 threes Saturday at VMI, the Bulldogs managed just 9-of-29 from behind the arc, led by Tyler Moffe's four threes on his way to a game-high, 20-point night. Moffe also dished out four assists.
- The Citadel finished 34.1 percent shooting for the game (15-44) to Wofford's 40.7 percent (22-54). While the Terriers were also strapped shooting the ball from long range, making 8-of-26, they went a perfect 13-for-13 shooting from the free throw line, while the Bulldogs shot 19-of-23.
- Hayden Brown garnered his 24th career double-double, making 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. It is the second most in a career at The Citadel with only Mike Grosselle posting more with 27.
- Stephen Clark was second on the team with eight rebounds, while delivering four points, four assists, and one block.
- Jason Roche shot 2-of-10 from behind the arc and a perfect 5-of-5 from the charity stripe for an 11-point night.
- The Terriers controlled the game down low, leading 26-10 on points in the paint. They held a slim 33-30 lead in rebounds and had five offensive rebounds as they led 8-0 in second-chance points.

- Jason Roche moved into fourth all-time with 97 threes in one season, passing Noy Castillo's total of 96 from 1994-95. The all-time record is 114 set by Matt Frierson in 2017-18.
- Hayden Brown moved one spot up on the career records board with 661, passing Cameron Wells, who totaled 657 boards from 2007-11. Brown's 1,293 career points is 13th all-time.
- Stephen Clark now stands alone for fifth all-time with 60 blocks this season. His 122 career swats stands fourth all-time.
