CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team is home for the first time this spring as the Bulldogs welcome Washington and Lee and New Orleans to the Earle Tennis Center on Feb. 22-23. The Bulldogs and Generals will meet on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will take on the Privateers on Wednesday. Both matches are set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs are off to a 1-7 start to the season.
The doubles team of
Zvonko Bencedic and
Sebastian Kamieniecki are 3-1 on the season with doubles wins against NAIA nationally-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan.
Zvonko Bencedic in the No. 2 singles spot is 2-5 in singles play.
Washington and Lee are 0-4 on the 2022 season with their most recent loss against No 9. North Carolina Wesleyan College.
WLU's No. 5 singles player, Evan Brady, is 4-3 in singles match play for the season.
New Orleans is off to a hot start to the season, winning eight of their first nine matches this spring.
The No. 3 singles player, Max Heinzel, is 5-2 on the season and was named the Southland Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 15.
