SUMTER, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team returns to action with a pair of matches on Saturday. The Bulldogs will take on USC Sumter at 10 a.m., and South Carolina State at 1:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter.
The Bulldogs are off to an 0-3 start to the season after dropping a pair of matches at Coastal Carolina on Monday.
Zvonko Bencedic, in the No. 2 singles spot, has been a difficult opponent to compete against. Bencedic has forced a first-set tiebreak in two of the three matches this season. Bencedic forced a third set against Coastal Carolina.
USC Sumter is 0-2 to start the 2022 season with defeats against Lander and Augusta.
South Carolina State begins its 2022 season on Friday against Coastal Carolina.
The Bulldogs are back on the court on Feb. 13 for a pair of matches in Nashville. The Citadel will face Tennessee Wesleyan and Vanderbilt.
