Track and Field head to Liberty Open

LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams travel to Lynchburg, Virginia, this weekend to compete in the Liberty Open Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 5.
Saturday's field events will begin at 8 a.m., and track events will start at 10 a.m.
Final Schedule
Last weekend, the Bulldogs opened the indoor season and recorded multiple Top-10 finishes at the South Carolina Invitational.
On the men's side, junior distance runner Sam Sharnas broke the school's record in the 5,000m run with 14:47.39. He broke the record previously held by Kyle Keene.
Junior Reggie Reynolds threw a personal best of 52-06.50 in the shot put to finish second, while Prince Howard-Whitaker posted a pair of Top-10 finishes in the weight throw. Prince Moody cleared 6-02.75 in the high jump to finish fourth.
On the women's side, Carisma Holland was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week after placing second in the shot put with a throw of 45-10.75.
Heidi Fortin ran a time of 18:59.44 in the 5,000m run to finish seventh.
The Bulldogs return to the track on Feb. 10 at the JDL Team Challenge in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
