Bulldogs Set for Afternoon Battle with Upstate

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel continues to play inside Riley Park as the Bulldogs welcome USC Upstate on March 9 at noon.

vs. USC Upstate
The Bulldogs and Spartans have played 18 times prior with Upstate holding an 11-7 advantage in the series. The Spartans won the last meeting in Spartanburg in 2020, and are making their first trip to Charleston since 2016.

vs. the Big South
The game with the Spartans is one of seven against teams from the Big South this season. The Bulldogs will play Charleston Southern four times and Winthrop twice.

Hutchins Performance
Right hander Ben Hutchins was dominant in his start against Northern Kentucky. He allowed just five hits and struck out six without allowing an earned run over 7.2 innings.

Costa's 4-Hit Day
Second baseman Dylan Costa had his first four-hit game as a Bulldog in the series opener against Northern Kentucky. He finished 4-of-5 with a double and three runs scored.

On Deck
The Bulldogs welcome Siena to Lowcounty for a three game series March 12-13. Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1 p.m., with the second game to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Sunday's game is set for 1 p.m.
