Tennis Prepares for Conference Championship

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. ­– The No. 8 seed Citadel men's tennis team will be facing the No. 1 seed ETSU in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Championships on Apr. 21 at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs head into the conference championship with a 6-25 record and a 0-7 conference record. The Citadel recently lost to ETSU, 7-0, on Apr. 17 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Hayden Shoemake leads the Bulldogs in singles victories for the season with 10. The doubles team of Zvonko Bencedic and Sebastian Kamieniecki lead the team with 12 doubles wins.

ETSU leads the Southern Conference in overall record with 17-6 and 7-0 in conference play heading into the conference championship. ETSU is led by Juan Zabala, who led the conference in total single victories with 16.
