Bulldogs Host Catamounts in SoCon Series

GAME NOTES

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel plays its first Southern Conference series at home as the Bulldogs welcome Western Carolina to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on April 22-24. The three-game series is set to get underway Friday at 6 p.m., and continue with a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday at 1 p.m. start on Sunday.

vs. Western Carolina
The Bulldogs and Catamounts have met 154 times prior with WCU holding a 90-64 advantage in the series. The teams met five times last season with the Catamounts winning all five contests.


Home SoCon Weekend
The weekend series marks the first home SoCon weekend of the season. The Bulldogs will play at home in back-to-back weekends after spending the first two on the road.


No Earned Runs
The Bulldog pitching staff allowed two unearned runs in the victory over Charleston Southern. It marked the first midweek game without allowing an earned run since the Bulldogs allowed two unearned runs in a 3-2 victory against CSU on April 21, 2015. The Bulldogs also held Georgia Southern to two unearned runs on Feb. 24, 2015.


Midweek Pitching
The Bulldog pitching staff has held its opponents to three runs or less in five of the 10 midweek games this season. This includes allowing no earned runs to Charleston Southern in the most recent outing.


On Deck
The Bulldogs play their final road game of the month as they travel to Winthrop on April 26. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
