Bulldogs Head to the Upstate to Take on Winthrop

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Citadel hits the road for the final time during the month of April as the Bulldogs travel to the Upstate for a midweek game at Winthrop on April 26. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Freshman left hander Fisher Paulsen allowed just two hits and struck out 10 over 8.0 shutout innings against Western Carolina. It was a career-high for innings pitched and strikeouts.

Fisher Paulsen became the first Bulldog freshman to strike out 10 batters in a game since JP Sears fanned 10 Mercer Bears on May 21, 2015.

Floyd Closes the Deal
Freshman George Derrick Floyd pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first career save against Western Carolina. Floyd appeared in all three games of the series, allowing just one hit and striking out three over 3.1 innings.

Shutout vs. Western Carolina
The Bulldogs 3-0 shutout over Western Carolina was the first shutout over the Catamounts since a 4-0 victory on March 12, 2010.

McCarthy Swiping Bags
Ryan McCarthy stole three bases in the series finale against Western Carolina. The senior stole five bases during the week in five attempts.
