
Track and Field to Begin Indoor Season

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel track and field teams are set for a two-day event at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, South Carolina, on Jan. 20 and Jan. 21.

Field events on Friday will begin at 10:00 am, and track events at 10:30 am. Saturday's field events start at 10 am, and track begins at 1 pm.

On the Men's Side
- Long-distance runner Sam Sharnas returns as he set the 3,000 and 5,000 indoor meter records last season.
- Stephen Kraeling had multiple top-ten finishes in the high jump and a second-place finish at the Southern Conference Indoor Championships.
- Reggie Reynolds comes in the 2023 indoor season with multiple top-ten finishes in the weight throw, including a second-place finish at the South Carolina Invitational with a throw of 52' 6.5
On the Women's Side
- Tatiana Corso returns as she competes in the weight throw and shot put. Corso placed first at the Liberty Open and set a personal record at the Southern Conference Indoor Championship in the weight throw with 49'1.
- Long-distance runner Heidi Fortin broke her own school record in the 3,000-meter run during the Southern Conference Indoor Championship with a time of 10:34.03.
- Mecca Jackson finished with multiple top-ten finishes in the 60-meter dash and finished four as part of the 4x400 team with a time of 4:06.17 in the South Conference Indoor Championship.
