SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel's
Gina DeLancey was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
This honor marks the first time DeLancey has received Player of the Week recognition from the conference office.
The native from Arlington, Va., averaged 1.25 blocks per set in two matches against Furman and ETSU. She recorded 7.0 total blocks against Furman with two block solos and five block assists. Against ETSU, she recorded three block assists.
DeLancey ranks third in the conference with 68 total blocks with 11 block solos and 57 block assists.
