BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Citadel (0-8, 0-5 SoCon) struggled to find a foothold against defending league champion Samford (5-4, 4-3 SoCon) as the Bulldogs returned to action following their midseason bye week, dropping a 37-7 road decision to the host Bulldogs on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Pete Hanna Stadium.

- The Citadel found the end zone for the first time late in the third quarter, as Graeson Underwood connected with Jay Graves-Billips down the right sideline for a 40-yard touchdown. Notably, both the pass and catch matched season-highs for Underwood and Graves-Billips, as the duo previously logged a 40-yard reception during the Bulldogs' matchup against Campbell on Sept. 9.
- The Bulldogs offense returned to its roots on the ground game, compiling 43 rushing attempts for 186 yards, good for the second-best performance this year (198 yards on 43 attempts at Georgia Southern).
