How it Happened
  • The game got off to a good start for the Bulldogs as Brady Spence pulled down an offensive rebound and scored for the first points of the game.
  • Furman would push to a six-point lead four minutes into the game, but the Bulldogs were able to battle back and take a 19-17 lead on a Madison Durr jumper.
  • The Paladins would use a 7-0 run late in the first half to take a seven-point lead, but the Bulldogs battled back and pulled within two at the half on a Stephen Clark layup.
  • The second half saw 20 minutes of basketball in which neither team was able to open up more than a five-point lead.
  • The Paladins held the five-point lead with 11:00 minutes remaining before Elijah Morgan's basket was followed by a pair of AJ Smith free throws and a Clark three-pointer to give the lead to the Bulldogs with 9:19 to play.
  • After Furman tied the game, Clark took a back-door feed from Austin Ash for the dunk, and Morgan stole the ball for the fast break layup to give The Citadel their biggest lead of the game at 58-54.
  • The game would be tied once again at the 3:20 mark before Spence turned an offensive rebound into two points and Clark scored in transition to give the Bulldogs the lead for good.
  • The Paladins would get a three-pointer with less than a minute to play to pull within one, but Morgan was able to knock down all four free throws down the stretch for the four-point victory.

Inside the Box Score
  • The victory put an end to a nine-game losing streak to the Paladins that dated back to 2017-18. The Bulldogs last win was a 100-92 overtime victory inside McAlister Field House on Feb. 3, 2018.
  • Brady Spence recorded his first career double-double, finishing with a career-high 10 points and matching his career-best with 12 rebounds. He also added a career-high four blocked shots.
  • Stephen Clark went 10-of-19 from the floor and finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots.
