CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel football team wrapped up its first spring practice under first-year head coach Maurice Drayton with the annual Blue-White Spring Game Saturday afternoon inside Johnson Hagood Stadium.
 
The day featured the largest junior day attendance in program history as the Bulldogs welcomed over 650 players and their families to the Lowcountry.
 
The main objective of the spring season was to learn how to practice. The Bulldogs spent the 15 practices installing a new offensive and defensive scheme under the new coaching staff.
 
Saturday's game was the culmination of the work put in by the players and coaches.
 
The action on the field did not disappoint as the fans in attendance were treated to an exciting game that came down to the final play. On that final play, the Blue Team was unable to score a touchdown, giving the victory to the White Team.
 
The Bulldogs will now shift their focus to their offseason program, while the coaches will get back on the recruiting trail. The Citadel will enter final exams later next week and then return in June for summer conditioning. Fall camp will begin in early August with the Bulldogs opening the 2023 season at Georgia Southern on Sept. 2.
