Bulldogs Step Out of Conference to Host Ball State

GAME NOTES

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel plays its first four-game weekend series of the season as the Bulldogs welcome Ball State to the Lowcountry April 6-8. The series is set to get underway Thursday and 5 p.m., and continue with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and conclude with a 1 p.m. game on Saturday.

vs. Ball State
The Citadel and Ball State have met twice prior on the diamond with the Bulldogs coming away victorious in the previous two meetings. The Citadel won 6-5 on Feb. 27, 1985, and 6-4, on March 8, 2011.

Last Meeting vs. Ball State
The Citadel got three RBIs from Joe Jackson and five strong innings from Connor Hitchingham in 6-4 victory over the Cardinals on March 8, 2011 inside Riley Park.

vs. the MAC
The Citadel is 10-7 all-time against teams from the Mid-American Conference. Ball State is the first MAC team to visit The Joe since Kent State played a midweek game at The Joe on Feb. 27, 2019.

5 Games in 5 Days
The Citadel has a busy week ahead as the Bulldogs will play five games in five days. After a Tuesday game with Winthrop, the Bulldogs will play four games against Ball State on April 6-8.

On Deck
The Bulldogs return to Southern Conference action as they travel to UNCG on April 14-16.
