Bulldogs Close Regular Season at Home Against Wofford

GAME NOTES

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel closes out the 2023 regular season as the Bulldogs welcome the Wofford Terriers to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park for a three-game Southern Conference series on May 18-20. All three games of the series are set to begin at 1 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN+.

The Citadel and Wofford have met 88 times prior with the Terriers holding a 55-33 advantage. The Bulldogs have not won the series since 2013.  


Last Meeting vs. Wofford
The Citadel scored a run in the ninth, and had the tying run on second, before falling 6-5 in the series finale in Spartanburg.


Wilson Goes Deep
Outfielder Clay Wilson hit the first home run of his career against College of Charleston as he pinch hit to lead off the seventh inning and hit the first pitch of the inning over the fence in left center.


Bulldogs Hit the Long Ball
The Bullodgs hit five home runs in the series finale against Western Carolina. The five homers are the most in a game since hitting six at Charleston Southern on May 14, 2013.

Mitchell Goes Deep Twice
Infielder Noah Mitchell homered in each of his first two at-bats at Western Carolina in the finale. It marked the second career multi-homer game for the senior. He hit two home runs against Saint Peter's on 2/29/20.


Reeves Hits Third Leadoff Jack
Shortstop Sawyer Reeves hit his third leadoff homer of the seaosn against Western Carolina, equaling the mark set by Austin Mapes in 2015.


Starling Stuffs Catamounts
Gant Starling continued his stretch of dominance as he held Western Carolina to just one run on one hit and seven strikeuts over 4.0 innings to earn the save in the middle game of the series.

The Bulldogs head to the Southern Conference Baseball Championshps presented by Holsten Gases on May 24-27 at Fluor Field in Greenville.
