WICHITA, Kan. – The Citadel's
Travis Lott was one of 13 players named a semifinalist for the 2023 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award, it was announced by the Wichita Sports Commission on Monday.
Ballots will be sent to the national voting panel at the end of May for a vote to determine the three finalists. The finalists will be announced June 6. A final vote among the national committee will occur during the College World Series. All finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced on June 29.

Lott has appeared in all 51 games this season, including making 49 starts behind the plate. He is hitting a team-best .331 with 10 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 32 RBIs. He has also walked 31 times and been hit by 17 pitches.
Lott, who is a two-time Academic All-District selection, has reached safely in 50 of the 51 games this season, and had a streak of reaching safely in 45-straight games dating back to last season.
The Bulldogs open Southern Conference Tournament action on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against VMI.
