SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel outside hitter
Ali Ruffin was selected to the 2023 All-Southern Conference Volleyball Preseason team in a vote by the league's head coaches announced Wednesday afternoon. The Citadel ranked sixth in the coaches' preseason poll with 27 points.
Ruffin was named to the 2022 First-team All-Southern Conference after putting up incredible numbers during last season. She appeared in all 30 matches and played in all 112 sets. Ruffin finished the season with 437 kills, 382 digs, 46 total blocks, and 38 service aces. Her 437 kills rank second all-time for the most kills for an individual season and sixth all-time with 382 digs for an individual season.
The native from Greenville, N.C., had four matches with at least 20 kills and set career-highs in kills and digs with 24 kills and 32 digs against Norfolk State.
