SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel's Libero
Jaelynn Elgert has been named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The senior Libero recorded 28 digs and 11 assists in two matches against Marshall and Bethune-Cookman at the Bash at the Beach on Aug. 25, she averaged 4.67 digs per set.
She recorded 14 digs and three assists against Marshall in a straight-set victory and 14 digs and eight assists in a 3-0 win against Bethune-Cookman.
The native from Peoria, Arizona earns her second SoCon Defensive Player of the Week award as a Bulldog. She received the recognition during the 2022 season.
The Bulldogs face the College of Charleston Cougars on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6:00 p.m. for the season's first home match at McAlister Field House.
