CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel basketball team fell behind by 18 midway through the first half and were unable to get back to even the rest night, losing to The College of Charleston 76-61.
Keynan Davis scored 17 points, due in part going 3-of-6 from long range.
Brody Fox had a strong second half to also register 17 while
Cam Glover chipped in 11.
First Half:
- With The Citadel leading 7-6, CofC used a 19-0 run over a 6:08 stretch to open up a 25-7 edge.
- The Bulldogs answered with a 14-2 spurt, capped off by a Davis 3-pointer, to trim the margin to eight, 27-19, at the under-8 timeout.
- A Smith make from beyond the arc nudged the margin back to double-digits, 37-25, as the Cougars led 41-27 at intermission.
Second Half:
- A CofC and-1 extended the edge back to 18, 54-36, at the 13:19 mark.
- The Cougars pushed the differential to over 20-points before a pair of Glover 3-pointers kept the Bulldogs within striking distance, 66-52, with 6:06 remaining.
- This time CofC responded with an 8-2 spurt to go back up 20, 74-54, with 2:38 left in the contest.
