CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel basketball team used a pair of
Paxton Davidson 3-pointers to pull away from St. Andrews University halfway through the second half to win 100-85 on Tuesday evening.
Brody Fox led the Bulldogs with 29 points on 10-of-14 shooting while
Cam Glover had 17, four boards and three dimes.
Paxton Davidson poured in a career-high 16 points that included three 3-pointers in the second half.
First Half:
- Back-to-back SAU threes cut The Citadel advantage to two, 15-13.
- Consecutive 3-pointers by Keynan Davis and Glover gave the Bulldogs some breathing room, 41-28, at the 8:03 mark.
- Dominic Commisso's hook shot held the margin at 57-46 before SAU added a bucket before the break.
Second Half:
- Two more Knight's 3-pointers cut the deficit to seven, 75-69, halfway through the second stanza.
- Davidson would hit a pair of long balls in a minute span to extend the lead to 87-75 with 6:53 left to go.
- Christian Moore's jumper capped off an 11-2 run to seal the game for The Citadel at 97-77 with less than five minutes to go.
