Weekend Baseball
The Citadel and Akron are set for a three-game series on Feb. 23-25 inside Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The series is set to get underway at 3 p.m. on Friday and continue with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to be high to mid-60s on Friday and Saturday, with a high chance of rain on Friday afternoon. Sunday will be 59 degrees and sunny.

The Bulldogs and the Zips will meet for the third time, with the Bulldogs holding a 2-0 record. In their last meeting, The Citadel defeated Akron 9-3, with Bo Thompson and Bret Hines hitting two home runs on Feb. 13, 2013.

The Citadel is 11-9 all-time against teams from the Mid-American Conference. The Bulldogs hosted Ball State during the 2023 season, and Ball State took the series against the Bulldogs.
