Crespo Records Four Hits, Bulldogs Sweep the Zips

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Javier Crespo recorded four hits as The Bulldogs swept the Akron Zips 13-2 inside Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • Akron scored the first two runs of the ballgame with two solo home runs in the second and fourth innings to make it 2-0.
  • Javier Crespo recorded his first home run of the season with an inside-the-park home run that skidded down the first base line and scored Hausner to tie the game at 2-2.
  • Lane Tobin got the Bulldogs their first lead by stealing home to make it 3-2.
  • The Bulldogs put up a five spot in the bottom of the sixth inning from a Matthew Lively RBI fielder's choice. Sawyer Reeves had a bases-clearing triple that scored three runs for the Bulldogs to make 7-2.
  • Thomas Rollauer followed up Reeves with a double to left field that plated one for the Bulldogs.
  • Wells Sykes had an RBI infield single that scored Lively.
