Elliott and Hausner Homer, Bulldogs Complete Three-Game Sweep Over the Minutemen

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Travis Elliott hit his first career home run, and Anthony Hausner hit his fourth home run in a 12-7 victory over the UMass Minutemen on Sunday afternoon, completing the three-game sweep.

How It Happened
  • UMass scored four runs in the top of the first inning with a three-run home run from Jack Beverly and a solo home run from Nolan Tichy.
  • The Citadel scored in the third on back-to-back pass balls from UMass, scoring Wells Sykes and Thomas Rollauer.
  • Javier Crespo flew out to center field, scoring Sawyer Reeves with a sac-fly RBI to make it a one-run game at 4-3.
  • Wells Sykes singled to the shortstop, and Matthew Lively scored on a throwing error committed by the UMass, tying the game at 4-4.
  • UMass answered back in the top of the fifth with a two-run RBI single from Carter Hanson, making it 6-4.
  • The Citadel scored on a fielding error committed by UMass, narrowing the Minutemen's lead to just one at 6-5.
  • Travis Elliott hit a three-run home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the fifth inning, giving The Citadel its first lead at 8-6.
