Johnathan Bennett along a slew of key defensive plays down the stretch, The Citadel (1-0, 0-0 SoCon) completed an 18-point comeback over the course of a majority of the second half of the inaugural Lowcountry Boil Bowl, eventually upending regional rival Charleston Southern (0-1, 0-0 Big South) via a narrow 22-21 final mark Saturday at Buccaneer Field.

- Bennett concluded the contest 10-for-17 for 170 passing yards; he also added a vital 61 rushing yards on 15 carries with one score
