CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team led at halftime, but an early second-half goal followed by a PK marker helped the VMI Keydets earn the 2-1 win.
How It Happened:
3' – CIT struck quickly as
Samantha Grantham would not be denied as her first shot was blocked but the second found the back of the net for an early Bulldogs lead.
47' – VMI got the equalizer quickly after the break as Martindale netted one from the right wing into the opposite corner.
62' – VMI earned a PK and Callejo capitalized for the 2-1 edge.
Inside the Numbers:
- Grace Laws got her second start in goal, making two saves.
- Grantham's goal was the third of her career in just her 14th collegiate match.
- Charlotte Seay and Elisa Fuentes were the only two Bulldogs to play full 90s.
