CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team suffered its first loss of 2024 as the Presbyterian College Blue Hose scored twice within seven minutes in the first half before adding an insurance marker just five minutes into the second 45 to earn a 3-0 road win.
How It Happened:
31' – A through ball up the middle from Muller helped Williams beat Santos up high to start the scoring.
38' – A pass in from the near side was flicked on by Poplasen to Mayyszek, who was alone inside the box, and struck it into the low corner.
50' – Another through ball up the middle, similar to the first marker, allowed Malyszek to finish in the upper corner for her second of the match in addition to Muller's third assist.
Inside the Numbers:
- Today's win by PC was its first against The Citadel in the last four matches.
- Besides Zoe Santos, Eryn Tufts and Elisa Fuentes were the only Bulldogs to play the full 90 minutes. It was Tufts' third full match and Fuentes' second of the season.
- Ariana Paez, the Bulldogs' leading point-getter, left the match in the 31st minute with an apparent injury and did not return.
