DeLand, FLA. – The Citadel women's soccer team trailed 2-0 early before falling 5-1 on the road at Stetson on Wednesday afternoon.
How It Happened:
9' – Off a corner, a Hatters shot to the low right corner beat the Bulldogs GK, 1-0 Stetson.
14' – Minutes later, Stetson used a free kick to one again score in the bottom right corner, 2-0 STE.
35' – Quinones added an unassisted marker with a blast into the lower left corner, 3-0 STE.
48' – CIT got one back early in the second off a corner, as Eryn Tufts scored her first collegiate goal after burying one in the upper right corner, STE 3-1.
The Hatters added insurance goals in the 60th and 80th minutes to win 5-1.
Inside the Numbers:
· Stetson now leads the all-time series 3-1.
· Washington, who earned 45 caps and started 33 matches for Stetson between 2020-22, came on in the 29th minute and played 39 in the match.
· The defender Tufts scored her first collegiate goal in her 61st career match.
