Multiple Top Ten Performances at the Gamecock Opener

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams competed in their first indoor meet with 14 top-ten performances at the Gamecock Opener.

On the Men's Side

Dillion McCarthy finished second overall in the pole vault by clearing 15-07.00. McCarthy earned the third spot all-time.
Jack Scott placed fifth in the pole vault with 14-07.25 to earn the fourth spot all-time.
Freshman Jacob Parker placed seventh overall in his first meet by clearing 12-07.50.
Ridge Dowe threw 51-01.00 in the weight throw to finish eighth overall and earn the ninth spot all-time.
Andrew Granger tossed 50-08.00 to place ninth in the weight throw.
Wyatt Carey ran a time of 1:25.48 to earn the fourth spot all time.
Jared Campbell ran 1:25.75 to earn the fifth spot all time.
Jack Weil threw a PR in the weight throw with 46-10.75.

On the Women's Side

Emily Danielsson placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 47-04.25.
Emily Pierontoni ran a time of 3:01.01 to finish fourth in the 1000m, earning second all-time.
Abigail Thiessen finished seventh in the 1000m with a time of 3:23.59, earning the ninth spot all-time.
Sara Grace Melton finished ninth with 3:34.36.
Alliann Johnson ran a time of 25.90 to finish tenth in the 200m.
Ayanna Gaedtke placed tenth in the mile with a time of 6:28.05.
Riley Lair threw 40-04.25 to place tenth in the weight throw.
Eryn Tufts ran 1:50.92 to earn the eighth spot all-time.
Julia Williamson ran 1:51.19 to earn the ninth spot all time.
Sarah Grace Lucovsky ran 1:55.77 to earn the tenth spot all-time.
