ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Citadel men's basketball team battled throughout Sunday afternoon's matchup but fell 69–41 to Presbyterian inside Harrah's Cherokee Center. Presbyterian found an early rhythm offensively, and The Citadel continued to compete and search for momentum as the game progressed. The Bulldogs connected on seven three-pointers and received contributions from throughout the rotation in the neutral-site contest.
Despite the early deficit, The Citadel stayed engaged throughout the contest, getting perimeter production from
Braxton Williams and
Logan Applegate and strong defensive play from
Christian Moore. Williams posted 13 points and five rebounds, while Moore added seven points and three steals.
Dante Kearse added six points off the bench, while
Eze Wali contributed from the perimeter. The Bulldogs also received steady minutes from the supporting rotation, including efforts from
Simeon German and
Chase Williams around the rim.
The Citadel finished the day 14-of-46 from the floor and 7-of-22 from beyond the arc while adding eight second-chance points and 28 points off the bench. Presbyterian shot 54.0 percent from the field and made 10 three-pointers.
