Bulldogs Drop Road Contest Against Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Citadel (3–10) dropped an 80–56 decision to Richmond (10–2) on Saturday night at the Robins Center.

Christian Moore led The Citadel with 14 points, finishing 4-of-9 from the field and knocking down four three-pointers. Braxton Williams added 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting, while Logan Applegate scored 10 points off the bench.

Richmond opened the game with an early run and built a double-digit lead midway through the first half, shooting efficiently from the floor while capitalizing on transition opportunities. The Citadel responded with a stretch of perimeter shooting to stay within reach, including multiple three-pointers late in the half, but Richmond carried a 42–32 advantage into the break. In the second half, the Bulldogs opened with a quick scoring burst to trim the deficit, as Moore connected on a three-pointer and Sola Adebisi followed with a fast-break dunk, before Richmond answered to extend the margin. The Citadel continued to generate offense from both the starting unit and the bench, but Richmond maintained control down the stretch to secure the win.

Following the game, head coach Ed Conroy reflected on the performance and areas for improvement:

"We didn't get off to a great start, but we made some shots and got more comfortable as the game went on," Conroy said. "We got good production off the bench tonight and played deep into our lineup to keep up the intensity. We have to be more consistent, take better care of the basketball, and do a better job getting to the free-throw line. I thought our guys competed on the glass and played hard, but consistency has to improve."
