CHARLESTON, S.C. -- ETSU (9–5, 1–0 SoCon) defeated The Citadel (3–11, 0–1 SoCon), 74–49, on Tuesday night at McAlister Field House.
Christian Moore led The Citadel basketball team with 10 points, while Carter Kingsbury added eight. Blake Barkley paced ETSU with 17 points.
The Citadel opened the game with an early lead and traded scores with ETSU through the opening stretch, holding a 14–13 advantage at the 10:09 mark of the first half. ETSU then closed the period on an extended run, taking a 40–23 lead into the break while shooting 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from the field and scoring 20 points in the paint before halftime.
The 'Dogs trimmed the deficit to 14 points early in the second half before ETSU extended the margin. The Citadel finished with 21 points from the bench and recorded seven steals and two blocks defensively, but ETSU maintained control by shooting 46.2 percent (12-of-26) over the final 20 minutes and converting 26 points off 17 Citadel turnovers.
