Tobin Records Two Home Runs; Bulldogs Win 11-3 Over Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. – Lane Tobin hit two home runs and recorded four RBIs in an 11-3 win over Presbyterian College on Tuesday night. The Citadel recorded a season-high in home runs, runs scored, and hits.

How It Happened
  • The Citadel started things in the first from a Garrett Fulmer RBI single up the middle, scoring Phillips Daniels.
  • Presbyterian responded in the bottom of the first with two RBIs to take the lead at 2-1.
  • Lane Tobin hit a solo home run in the top of the second to even the game at 2-2.
  • The Bulldogs scored three runs in the fourth from an RBI groundout from Travis Elliott, a Garrett Dill RBI double, and a Thomas Rollauer RBI single to increase The Citadel's lead to 5-2.  
  • Presbyterian narrowed the lead to 5-3 from a fielder's choice RBI in the bottom of the fourth.
  • Garrett Dill hit a solo home run to start the seventh, increasing the Bulldogs' lead to three to make it 6-3.  
  • TJ Anderson hit an opposite field RBI single, scoring Thomas Rollauer to make it 7-3.
  • Tobin hit his second home run to left field, driving in Anderson and Fulmer, extending the lead to seven runs at 10-3.
