Track and Field Claims Two Event Titles at South Carolina State Classic

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Citadel's men's and women's track and field recorded two event winners and five top ten performances in school history at the South Carolina State Classic.
 
On the Men's Side
  • Ridge Dowe won the hammer throw with a personal record of 52.38m, earning him the fourth all-time spot. He also finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 41.26m. Finally, he placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 12.92m.  
  • Jack Scott was second in the vault with a PR of 4.80m to earn the fourth spot all-time.
  • Arthur Parham was second in the javelin with 57.05m.
  • Jack Weil placed third in the javelin with a personal record of 53.95m. He also finished fifth in the discus with a personal best of 41.84m. Finally, he ended up fifth in the hammer throw with a record of 45.30.
  • William Owens was fourth in the hammer with a PR of 46.14. He was also fourth in the shot with 13.53. He was seventh in the discus with a PR of 39.77.
  • Charles Campbell was third in the 400 with a PR time of 48.61 to earn the eighth spot all-time.
  • Bradlee Jones was third in the 100 with 10.89. He qualified for the finals with 10.68 in the prelims.
  • Jacob Parker was fourth in the pole vault with a PR of 4.00.
  • The 4x100 of Dylan Thompson, Demetrius Shine, Charles Campbell, and Bradlee Jones took fourth with 41.47.
  • The 4x400 of Charles Campbell, DJ, Wyatt Carey, and Noah Casa ran 3:20.66 to take seventh.
  • Wyatt Carey was sixth with a PR in the 800 with 1:58.34.
  • Noah Casa had a PR in the 400 IH to take 9th.
  • Connor Hill had a PR in the 400 IH with 58.84. 
 
For the women
  • Ali Ruffin won the javelin with a season-best toss of 45.70m.
  • Eryn Tufts was fifth in the 1500 with 5:04.65 to earn the eighth spot all-time.
  • Morgan Mankoski was fourth in the discus with 33.85m.
  • Sadie Grove was fifth in the javelin with 34.43m.
  • Sam Barnes was eighth in the javelin with a PR toss of 32.35m.
  • Abigail Thiessen was eighth in the 800 with a PR of 2:27.65.
  • Tamia Levine was fifth in the triple with 10.80m.  She was ninth in the long jump with 4.75m.
  • Emily Danielsson placed second in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.68m. She also finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 10.95m.
  • Riley Lair had a PR in the hammer with 44.02m to earn the tenth spot all-time. She was also eighth in the shot with 10.51m.
  • Yanna Cuesta was seventh in the shot with 10.70m.
