GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Citadel recorded 17 hits, with six Bulldogs achieving multiple hits in an 8-7 victory over UNCG in the series opener.
Aryan Patel led the way with four hits.

How It Happened
- The Bulldogs took the lead in the first inning by scoring three runs. Anthony Hausner pushed in the first run with an RBI single to the left side, bringing in Phillips Daniels.
- Thomas Rollauer dropped a sacrifice bunt, advancing Hausner to second and scoring TJ Anderson at third to make it 2-0.
- Lane Tobin drove in the third run with an RBI single up the middle, scoring Hauser.
- The Spartans got on the board in the bottom of the second inning with a solo home run from Brantley Truitt.
- The Bulldogs added two more runs in the top of the third inning with an RBI groundout from Garrett Dill and Hausner, extending their lead to 5-1.
- UNCG cut the Bulldogs' lead to three runs at 5-2 with an RBI single to left in the bottom of the third.
- TJ Anderson drove in a run for the Bulldogs in the top of the fourth with an RBI double to left center, scoring Aryan Patel.
- The Bulldogs held a five-run advantage, leading 7-2 in the sixth inning, thanks to an RBI sacrifice fly from Phillips Daniels.
- The Spartans scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning from a bases-clearing RBI triple, an RBI single, and a hit by pitch with the bases loaded, tying the game at 7-7.
- The Bulldogs regained the lead in the top of the eighth inning with a sacrifice bunt from TJ Anderson, making it 8-7.
