Bulldogs Continue Nonconference Play Against Alabama State, No. 22 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Citadel tennis team continued nonconference play Sunday with a pair of matches at the Indoor Tennis Courts in Tallahassee, falling to Alabama State, 7–0, and No. 22 Florida State, 7–0.

The Bulldogs opened the day against Alabama State, where the Hornets secured the doubles point by winning matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. The Citadel earned a doubles victory at the top flight, as the tandem of Ted Bagwell and Brady Gober defeated Milan Ristov and Eloi Roux, 6–4.

In singles play, Alabama State claimed all six flights to complete the match. Senior Ted Bagwell pushed his opponent to a deciding super tiebreak at the No. 4 position but ultimately fell in three sets.

vs. No. 22 Florida State
Later in the afternoon, The Citadel squared off against nationally ranked Florida State. The Seminoles captured the doubles point with wins across all three flights before sweeping singles play to secure the 7–0 decision.

Florida State, ranked No. 22 nationally, earned straight-set victories at all six singles positions as the Bulldogs faced their second top-25 opponent in as many weekends.
