Four Bulldogs Garner Preseason All-SoCon Honors; The Citadel Picked Fourth in Preseason Poll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Will Holmes, Andrew Stanley, Phillips Daniels, and TJ Anderson were all named to the Preseason All-SoCon Second Team. The Citadel has been projected to finish fourth in the preseason coaches' poll, per an announcement announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

"It's nice to see our players and program earning more respect in the SoCon," said head coach Russell Triplett. "We look forward to the entire team helping the program take the next step forward."

Will Holmes, a southpaw from Inman, S.C., returns for his fifth season. He went 3-0 with a 0.72 ERA in five appearances over 25.0 innings pitched. Holmes recorded a season-high seven strikeouts against Maine.
 
Holmes was named a top draft prospect from the SoCon by D1 Baseball. He earns his second preseason SoCon honors, being selected to the 2024 Preseason All-SoCon First Team.
 
Andrew Stanley, a native of Huntington Beach, Calif., secures the Preseason All-SoCon Second Team honor after appearing in 17 games and starting 10 on the mound. Stanley posted an ERA of 5.07 over 71.0 innings pitched. He recorded a team season-high with 11 strikeouts in 6.0 innings against Western Michigan, allowing five hits in the process.
 
Phillips Daniels, a senior from Columbia, S.C., picks up his first Preseason All-SoCon Second Team honor after playing in 57 games and starting 56 for the Bulldogs. The catcher had his best season at The Citadel, posting a .297 with 54 hits, 16 doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 25 RBIs. Daniels led the Bulldogs with 20 HBP.
 
TJ Anderson, a senior from Aynor, S.C., begins his second season with the Bulldogs after earning his first Preseason All-SoCon Second Team honors. Anderson posted a .280 batting average with 53 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 24 RBIs. He recorded a season-high four hits against Samford and drove in a career-high three runs against Western Carolina.
 
The Citadel has been voted to finish fourth in the SoCon Coaches' Preseason Poll after posting a 31-26 overall record and a 12-9 conference record during the 2025 campaign, the first under second-year head coach Russell Triplett. The Bulldogs' preseason ranking is the highest since 2014, when The Citadel was picked to finish second.
