SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel basketball program has been tabbed by the Southern Conference for a pair of Nexstar broadcasts within the month of February, including the Bulldogs' road contest on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Western Carolina as well as the team's rivalry clash at Furman on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Tipoff for both contests has been slated for 6 pm ET, and games will air on local Nexstar affiliates across the Southeast as well as concurrently on ESPN+.
The Citadel secured the team's first SoCon victory in the home edition against the Catamounts on Jan. 10, surging late to force overtime en route to a a 79-77 victory.
Carter Kingsbury logged a notable 22 points while
Braxton Williams contributed 21 of his own for the Bulldogs; Western Carolina also generated a pair of 20-point performances, including a game-best 24 points from Marcus Kell along with a 23-point showing from Cord Stansberry.
In the first matchup between the Bulldogs and Paladins on Jan. 21, The Citadel overcame a 19-point deficit to win 77-75 in overtime.
Sola Adebisi posted 22 points with eight rebounds to pace The Citadel, while Charles Johnston's 15 points and 12 rebounds led the way for Furman.
Nexstar affiliates with the opportunity to air games include: WMYT (Charlotte); WYCW (Spartanburg/Greenville/Asheville); WWCW (Roanoke, VA); WCBD (Charleston, SC); WBTW (Myrtle Beach, SC); WGHP (Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem); WHDF (Huntsville/Florence, AL); WJHL (Johnson City, TN). Although not Nexstar stations, EFLI (Chattanooga, TN) and WMUB (Macon, GA) will also have the opportunity to air games from this season's package.
