MARTIN, Tenn. — A record-setting 14-run seventh inning propelled The Citadel (7-9) to a commanding 22-3 victory over UT-Martin (9-9) on Saturday afternoon at Skyhawk Baseball Field.
The offensive surge was highlighted by a 14-run seventh inning that broke the program record for most runs scored in a single inning, previously set back in 1996 at 13 runs.
Jayden Williams contributed with two hits, including a double, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base.
Miles Barbrey drove in four runs, scored twice, and hit two doubles.
Garrett Fulmer added two hits, two RBIs, a home run, and scored three times.
Rhyder Poppell hit his third homer of the season.
Aryan Patel delivered with a career-high five hits, including a pair of doubles, along with three RBIs and three runs scored.
On the mound,
Riley Ballard pitched 4.0 innings, allowing three earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
Ben Brash received the win after throwing two scoreless innings of relief, giving up just one hit and striking out one.
Andrew Bowers finished the game, allowing just two hits.
