JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — The Citadel (18-21, 4-8 SoCon) fell to ETSU (25-12, 8-4 SoCon) via a 12-1 mark in eight innings at Thomas Stadium on Sunday.
Michael Gibson, who has recorded two or more hits in two straight games, scored one run and collected two hits, including a double.
Sam Dansky registered one hit and drove in one run.
Lane Tobin added a hit and executed a sacrifice bunt.
Bryce Coulter started for the Bulldogs with 4.0 innings on the mound, allowing five earned runs on seven hits, including a home run, while striking out one and walking two.
CJ Van Slooten followed with 2.1 innings of relief, giving up three earned runs on four hits and recording one strikeout.
Liam Foley contributed 0.2 of an inning without surrendering any runs, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out one.
Riley Ballard closed the game, but his 0.2 of an inning saw four earned runs on four hits, including two home runs.
For the Buccaneers, Henry Ferguson and Tristan Curless each recorded four hits. Jamie Palmese recorded a game-high five RBIs and a home run. Cooper Jones earned the win after throwing 6.0 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out eight.
