He hit a home run against Georgia Southern on April 22, then followed up with a six-hit weekend against UNCG, going 2-for-3 with a double in a 2-1 win on April 24 and 3-for-4 with a double in a 10-1 win on April 25.
Gibson earned his team-leading fifth save of the season on April 24 against the Spartans, good for second in the SoCon. He pitched 2.1 innings, allowing three hits and one walk, with zero unearned runs and five strikeouts.
