2017 All-Southern Conference Second Team (media)

SOPHOMORE (2017): Named to the All-Southern Conference Second Team by the league’s media members … Appeared in nine games for the Bulldogs … Despite missing the final two games of the season, still finished the year tied for fifth on the team with 36 tackles, including 12 solo stops … Had 8.5 tackles for loss, including 2.5 sacks, totaling 32 yards to go along with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery … Had four quarterback hurries and one pass breakup … Started the season off with a season-high four solo stops and four tackles for a loss of 10 yards against Newberry (9/2) … Had one sack against the Wolves … The next week at Presbyterian (9/9), had four tackles, including one sack for a loss of four yards … Had two solo tackles and 0.5 of a sack at ETSU .(9/16) … Recorded six tackles, including five tackle assists and 0.5 of a tackle for loss against Mercer (10/7) … Had a season-high 10 tackles, including a season-high nine tackle assists against fifth-ranked Wofford (10/14) … In that game against the Terriers, had 1.5 tackles for a loss of 11 yards and a forced fumble … Had four stops, including two of the solo variety and 0.5 tackle of loss in 21-3 win over VMI (10/28).

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2016): Appeared in seven games … Recorded two tackles … Made collegiate debut in season-opening 24-23 win at Mercer … Recorded first career tackle in 19-14 victory vs. Furman … Registered one stop at North Carolina.

FRESHMAN (2015): Worked with the Bulldogs' scout team while redshirting.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three times in football … Also earned letters in basketball and track and field …  Posted 98 tackles, including 15 for loss with 13 sacks, six forced fumbles and 10 quarterback hurries his senior season … Named team’s Defensive Lineman of the Year … selected to play in North-South All-Star Game … placed fourth in discus and fifth in shot put at state championships junior year … Finished third in state in shot put as sophomore and eighth in discus as freshman … Helped team win state track and field championship in 2013.

PERSONAL: Son of Karl Williams and Teresa Thompson, and stepson of Maia Williams … Brother, Jordan also plays football at The Citadel.
