2023: Played in all 11 games, recording 41 tackles, four tackles for loss...registered a season-best nine stops at Georgia Southern, including one for loss...was in on three tackles against Campbell...had six tackles, including four solo stops and one for loss, at Chattanooga...posted five tackles, including four solo stops, at South Carolina State...was in on four tackles, including one for a loss of nine yards, at Furman...notched two solo stops at Samford...garnered four tackles, including one for loss, against Mercer...tallied five tackles against Wofford...registered three solo tackles, including one for loss, at ETSU. 

2022: Was the leader of the Bulldog defense as he led the team in tackles (81), tackles-for-loss (10.5) and sacks (4.0). His numbers ranked in the Top-10 in the SoCon in all three categories. He posted at least six tackles in nine of the 11 games, including a season-high 11 stops against Wofford.

2021: Appeared in 10 games…posted seven tackles, including one for loss and a half sack…recorded a tackle in each of first two games…posted season-high four tackles against Samford.

2020-21: Appeared in the four games during the fall…posted five tackles…had one tackle in each of the first three games…registered two tackles at Army West Point.

2019: Appeared in all 12 games…started the final four games at linebacker…finished with 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss, one sack and four quarterback hurries…registered career-high six tackles in first career start against Mercer…recorded first career sack at Chattanooga…made five stops in season finale against Wofford.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Aaron Hancock at Wyoming High School…helped the Cowboys to a 15-0 record and the Division IV state championship as a senior…earned first-team all-state honors after recording 113 tackles and nine sacks…garnered Second-Team All-Ohio laurels, as well as being a defensive player of the year finalist in Cincinnati…first team all-district and all-league after recording 106 tackles, three sacks and an interception as a junior…honorable mention all-state selection…all-academic team selection.

PERSONAL: Son of Larry and Tampala Black…brother, Larry, played football for Indiana before going on to play for the Cincinnati Bengals…brother, Jibreel, played football at Michigan before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.…plans to major in mechanical engineering.
