Alvin Jones Jr. joined The Citadel football coaching staff as a Defensive Assistant / Linebackers / Player Personnel in Spring 2026.
A former NFL and CFL player, Jones competed for the Baltimore Ravens for one season (2019) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the following two years (2021-23).
Additionally, Jones Jr. proved a dynamic playmakers during his collegiate career at UTEP, logging 343 total tackles -- the second most for any Miner since 2000 -- over four seasons as a major contributor and primary starter at linebacker. He also notched 40.0 career tackles for loss, good for third in program history and picked up 15.0 sacks as well en route to back-to-back-to-back C-USA All-Conference honors.
Jones Jr. graduated with a degree in communications from the University of Texas at El Paso in May 2017 and is currently working on his Master of Science in Sports Marketing & Media from Liberty University.
