LIVE RESULTS Â Â | Â Â MEET SCHEDULE
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams begin their outdoor campaigns this weekend as both squads travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the 20th annual Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The meet, hosted by Coastal Carolina, takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Daily admission is just $6 for adults. The meet welcomes more than 1,300 student-athletes from 38 college teams. The Citadel begins competition Thursday with the women's 10,000-meter event, which is slated for 7 p.m. The Bulldogs wrap up at the Shamrock Invitational Saturday with the men's 4x400 relay at 5 p.m.Â

After a strong showing at the Southern Conference Indoor Championships, the Bulldogs are poised for a successful outdoor season. The men's 4x400 relay team of
Devin Singleton, Josiah Johnson,
Tyler Jackson and
Tevin Williams finished third at the conference indoor meet to garner All-Southern Conference recognition. Johnson, Singleton and Williams are teaming up with
Louis Lawrence to compete in the 4x100 relay this weekend.

Sophomore
Derrick Freeland had a stellar indoor season and capped it off with a fourth place overall finish and personal record in the weight throw. Freeland has a busy weekend ahead as he is set to challenge the field in the hammer throw, discus throw and shot put. Also leading the Bulldogs in men's field events is
Capers Williamson, who is a two-time NCAA East Regional qualifier in the javelin throw. Williamson is in the fourth and final flight in that event at the Shamrock Invitational, entering competition as the No. 6 seed.

The women's squad is led by sophomore
Asyria Daniels and senior
Caillian Colquitt. Daniels broke the indoor school record in the triple jump at the SoCon Championships. She and teammates
Hannah Murray and
Dymond Ettson will leap in Saturday's triple jump event. Colquitt clocked the fourth-fastest indoor time in program history in the 5,000 meter run two weeks ago. She enters Thursday with the second-best seed time in the 10,000 meter run which kicks off The Citadel's track events at the Shamrock Invitational.

Sarah Johnson,
Ty'Rhonza Harris,
Summer Thompson and
Hannah Murray are coming off a sixth place finish at the SoCon Indoor Championships in the 4x400-meter relay. All four will represent The Citadel in the 200-meter dash this weekend. Harris will also compete in the top heat of the 400-meter sprint on Friday. Â
