Track & Field Teams Set for Bill Carson Invite

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel's men's and women's track and field teams are back in action this weekend at the Bill Carson Invitational in Greenville, North Carolina. The event, hosted by East Carolina University, is taking place Friday and Saturday at Minges Family Field at Bate Foundations Track and Field Facility.
Six programs, including East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, High Point, Troy, UNC-Charlotte and The Citadel will compete at the Bill Carson Invitational. The meet begins Friday with throwing events at 10 a.m. and wraps up Saturday with field events starting at 11 a.m. and track events launching at 11:30 a.m. The women's and men's 4x400-meter relays will conclude the meet and are slated to begin at 4:45 p.m.
Three weeks in to the outdoor season, the men's and women's teams have combined to shatter three program records already. Senior Capers Williamson snapped the school record in the javelin throw while senior Caillian Colquitt and sophomore Asyria Daniels broke records in the 5,000 meter run and triple jump events, respectively.
Overall, the Bulldogs collected 11 performances at the North Florida Spring Break Invitational that now rank in the top ten in program history. More than 25 personal records were set, giving the track and field squads momentum heading into this weekend's event at East Carolina.
