Four Bulldogs Set to Compete in NCAA Regionals on Friday

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel's cross country teams are sending four cadet-athletes to compete in the Division I Cross Country Southeast Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 10 hosted by Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
The women's 6,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 11:30 a.m. at Panorama Farms.
Senior Jamie Cunningham and freshman Jeremy Shipley will represent the men's team, and freshmen Amber Opp and Casey Miller will represent the women's squad.
"We are very excited that these cadet-athletes have the opportunity to experience an NCAA event," said head coach Jody Huddleston. "They worked very hard this season for this opportunity to compete against the best runners in the Southeast Region."
Most recently, The Citadel men's team finished ninth at the Southern Conference Championship while the women's squad took tenth place.
Opp finished 38th overall and was the first lady Bulldog to cross the finish line in the 5K with a time of 19 minutes, 2.70 seconds. Cunningham was the second Bulldog to cross the finish line for the men in the 8K in 26:41.60.
