Bulldogs Head to Clemson for Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel track and field teams will compete in the Clemson Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina, on Friday.
Last Thursday, the men's and women's squads competed in the High Point Team Challenge in Winston Salem, North Carolina. For the men's squad, senior Malik Diggs took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.35 seconds.
Three Bulldogs also set personal records during the meet starting with freshman Raleigh Webb who ran the 60-meter dash in 7.16. Sophomore Ja'Lon Williams also set a personal record when he placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 47 feet, 0.25 inches, and freshman Mustapha Elgazar set a personal record in the 800 with a time of 1:59.33.
For the women's team, freshman Jessy Page broke The Citadel's freshman record once more and moved to the No. 3 spot in program history in the weight throw with a toss of 49-9.75. Junior Ty Harris placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.18 and finished fourth in the 200 in 27.01.
The women's squad also had three members set personal records including senior Caillian Colquitt who ran the second-best time in program history in the 3,000 with a time of 10:38.65. Freshman Jordan Neeley also set a personal best in the 800 with a time of 2:28.25, and sophomore Kameron Cass set a personal record in the weight throw with a toss of 45-1.5.
Clemson's Invitational is scheduled all day February 17, and results will be available at CitadelSports.com.
