Bulldogs Conclude Regular Season Meets

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Citadel track and field teams finished their regular season on Friday at the Clemson Invitational.
For the men's squad, junior Derrick Freeland broke The Citadel's all-time record in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 58 feet, 7.50 inches. Senior Malik Diggs finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles final with a time of 8.37 seconds.
Sophomore Clarence Richardson finished sixth overall in the 400-meter dash in 49.61. Freshman Mustapha Elgarzar placed sixth in the 800-meter race with a time of 1:56.86, and senior Ross Jordan took seventh place in the mile run with a time of 4:25.14.
For the women's team, junior Asyria Daniels placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 17-2.75. Sophomore Kameron Cass finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 35-4.00. Freshman Jessy Page took seventh place overall in the weight throw with a toss of 49-6.25.
The Bulldogs will head to the SoCon Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee, on February 25 and results will be available at CitadelSports.com.
